Engineering Technology

The Engineering Technology Division at ADMC offers a wide range of programs at the Diploma and Bachelor level. The programs are hands-on, application-oriented and include projects to prepare students for employment. Graduates have practical competencies and language skills to function in a variety of industries. Course delivery is student-oriented and includes work placement in a relevant industry.

Stakeholder industries include the ADNOC group companies of the petroleum sector, utility service companies, communications, metallurgical production, manufacturing, UAE Armed Forces, Abu Dhabi governmental organizations, aviation industry, and companies in the construction sector.

Customized programs are available on a cost-recovery basis to meet specific training requirements.

The program covers the laws of chemistry, physics, and mathematics to change the structure of chemical substances and purify new substances that are created in the process. The program prepares the students for positions as engineers with the technical and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in the design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes. Students will gain strengths in heat and mass transfer in plants and process control design projects. Graduates typically have strengths in applied design, development and implementation of chemical engineering systems

The program deals with the planning and designing of buildings, bridges, transportation systems and the environment. It prepares students for positions as engineers with the technical and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the built environment and global infrastructure. Graduates will have the ability to analyze and design systems, specify project methods and materials, perform cost estimates and analyses, and manage technical activities in support of civil projects.

The program deals with the generation, transmission, distribution and control of electric energy systems and related equipments. This program prepares the students for positions as engineers with the technical and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in the design, application, installation, manufacturing, operation and maintenance of power systems. Students gain strengths in instrumentations, machines and power electronics. Graduates are well prepared for analysis, applied design, development and implementation of electrical systems.

The program focuses on the fields of telecommunications, instrumentation and control systems and data communications and networks. This program prepares the students for positions as engineers with the technical and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in the design, application, installation and maintenance of electronic systems. Students gain strengths in digital and embedded systems, programming and system control. Graduates are well prepared for analysis, applied design, development and implementation of electronic systems.

The program deals with the manipulation of energy through useful mechanical devices and the application of thermodynamics and heat transfer systems. The program prepares students for positions as engineers with the knowledge, problem solving ability, and managerial skills to enter careers in the design, installation, manufacturing, testing and maintenance of mechanical systems. Students will gain expertise in mechanical design, turbomachinary and process control. Graduates will typically have strengths in the analysis, applied design, development and implementation of mechanical systems and processes.

The Aviation Engineering programs prepare students for positions as Engineers and Managers in the Aviation Industry. Graduates are certified as Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers by national and international authorities, graduates will have to complete their On-Job-Training (OJT) with local aircraft maintenance organizations.[/expand]

The Engineering Logistics Management program comprises the planning, steering and controlling of material and information flow starting with product acquisition via production up to the disposal of production waste and retail and sales of products. This 4 year program includes 3 years of learning different fields of logistics and last year specialization. Specializations include Port and Airport Management; Road, Rail and Public Transport Management. [/expand]

This program gives students the necessary education and training to become a deck officer at sea. It covers the academic components required by the IMO Standards of Training and Certification of Watchkeepers at Masters level. The program also includes practical seatime with guided study, and provided sufficient seatime is obtained by the end of third year students can apply to the National Transport Authority for the Certificate of Competency at Officer of the Watch level. To obtain higher level Certificates of Competency students will be required to undertake further seatime and then apply to the National Transport Authority.

The program will educate students in the field of Maritime Engineering and Naval Architecture, to prepare them to work in a wide range of maritime related industries in the UAE including: shipyards; classifications societies; ship design consultancies; ship owners, and ports.
